ETRS of Michigan (“we,” “us,” or “our”) values your privacy. Audience and scope. The Site and our services are intended primarily for individuals and organizations in Michigan. This Policy is governed by Michigan law and applicable U.S. federal law. It does not create rights under other U.S. state privacy statutes or under EEA/UK law.

  • Referral details submitted by probation officers/agents or courts (e.g., agent name, client name, date of birth, MDOC client number, offense, contact information, and any uploaded documents).
  • Program registration details (e.g., name, date of birth, case/court information, MDOC/private status and MDOC number, probation officer, case number, email, phone, mailing address, BAC if applicable, prior‑offense information) and selected class dates.
  • Communications you send us by email, phone, mail, or web forms (e.g., questions, scheduling, rescheduling, refund requests).

  • If you pay online, payments are processed by a third‑party payment processor. We receive confirmation details (e.g., payment status, amount, transaction ID) but do not store full credit/debit card numbers.

  • When you visit the Site, we (and service providers) may automatically collect technical data such as IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, time on site, referring/exit pages, and general location derived from IP. We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site, understand usage, and improve services (see Cookies).

  • Provide services you request (screenings/assessments, classes, treatment and relapse‑prevention programming, scheduling, attendance, progress reporting where applicable).

  • Facilitate court/MDOC referrals and communicate with referring officers/agents and clients.
  • Communicate with you about class logistics, billing, policy updates, and support.
  • Comply with law and court orders and maintain required records.
  • Operate, secure, and improve the Site, including analytics, troubleshooting, and preventing fraud or abuse.
  • Administer refund/rescheduling requests consistent with our posted policies.

3) Program Confidentiality and Sensitive Information

Some services involve information related to substance use or other sensitive matters. Where applicable, certain records associated with substance use disorder diagnosis, treatment, or referral may be subject to additional federal confidentiality protections under 42 C.F.R. Part 2. When those rules apply, we handle such information in compliance with those requirements, which generally restrict disclosure without specific written consent or a qualifying court order, among other safeguards.

  • Service providers/processors that help us operate the Site and deliver services (hosting, payment processing, communications, scheduling, virtual class platforms, data security, and analytics) under confidentiality and use restrictions.
  • Courts, probation officers/agents, and corrections agencies as required or authorized to manage referrals, attendance, and progress reporting.
